Us Brits love The Gadget Show; our weekly lowdown to everything regarding technology, including video games. Thankfully, the hit TV show has gone to print for the first time with a Spring/Summer 2010 Special Edition magazine.
The magazine features an excellent ’10 to watch in 2010’ feature, and one of those is Project Natal, previewed by show presenter Jason Bradbury.
Bradbury’s been playing video games for a long time, and with Natal experience after testing the device at a top secret demonstration for UK celebs, he knows what he’s talking about.
“Natal’s specs are a closely guarded secret” he says, “but what I can tell you, being one of a handful of lucky Brits to have tried it, is that it plays well – not brilliantly – just well. There was a lack of realtime feedback in the version I used, but it recognises movement in a much more comprehensive way than, say, the Wii.”
“The mind boggles at what the developers of iPhone/Touch games like Rolando and Zen Bound could do with something as promising as Project Natal.” He concluded.
Natal launches at the end of the year, and it won’t go away in the near future, with up to 80% of worldwide developers working on titles which support the peripheral. You can expect to see and hear more at the E3 conference in June, where Microsoft will be announcing the full list of launch titles.
