Microsoft Set To Release New Xbox 360 Controller This Holiday?

UPDATE 1: The guys over at Strategy Informer have had word from a Microsoft spokesperson confirming that a new controller is on the way, but will be releasing in early 2011, rather than this Holiday.
ORIGINAL: Microsoft are looking to make your gaming life that little bit easier with a "unique" d-pad on a new controller releasing this Holiday, according to Joystiq.
The new d-pad is supposedly aimed at fighting game fanatics, raising a quarter of an inch when rotated a quarter of an inch.
An interesting move from Microsoft - if true - to say the least, with the prodigious platform holder looking to reiterate their honour to controllers, despite the upcoming release of Kinect.
