The Nintendo Wii has finally hit the big three-oh million in US sales figures, suggests Nintendo's internal sales figures.

Incredibly, the motion-controlled box of wonder managed to do it in just 45 months, smashing the PS2's existing sales record by a whopping 15 months. NoA executive vice president of Sales & Marketing, Cammie Dunaway - yes, her of the embarrassing E3  - said:

"More than any other video game system in history, Wii has expanded the world of video games to new audiences," said. This milestone is another reminder that people want fun games they can play with others - all at a value-minded price."

With Sony and Microsoft both jumping on the money bandwagon, Nintendo are still not ready to reveal the Wii's next step. With such incredible sales figures, who can blame them?
