Its been four years since Criterion's Black was released for PS2 and Xbox, and a lot of first-person shooters have been released since.
Those FPS' include the like of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, Killzone 2 and Halo 3. But Stuart Black, who worked as senior designer on Black believes that current games in the genre are boring.
"There's a lot of cover-based shooters out at the moment," said Black in an in interview with OXM. "But when a guy hunkers down behind something, you've just got to sit there and wait for him to pop his head up. Pops up, couple of bullets to his head, pops back down again.. and I'm waiting for him to pop back up again? F***ing boring. I can't be bothered hanging around like that."
Stuart is currently working on a new IP with Codemasters' Guildford Studio. Lets hope it's not boring, otherwise he'll have his head in his hands.
