Japanese sales for PlayStation Vita have continued to drop in the last week, with numbers now hovering just over 15,000.
According to Japanese data company Media Create, the portable powerhouse managed to shift just 15,219 units – down from last week’s worrying 18,361. Once again it lies fourth in the hardware sales chart, behind Nintendo’s 3DS, Sony’s PS3 home console and even its predecessor, the PSP.
It hasn’t all been doom and gloom for Sony’s latest handheld, though. It had a rather positive start, selling close to 325,000 units in the first seven days following its December 17 launch in Japan.
Here’s the full Media Create hardware chart for January 16 through January 22:
1. 3DS - 80,960 (100,668)
2. PS3 - 21,155 (30,332)
3. PSP - 17,181 (22,538)
