PlayStation France boss says Sony likely to be last to announce new console

Sony is likely to be last when it comes to announcing a next-generation home console, according to PlayStation France boss Philippe Cardone.
During an interview with French website Le Point – as translated by VG247’s Pat Garratt – Cardone claimed, “It’s true that there are a lot of rumours, but I couldn’t tell you anything.”
He added: “Wii is pressed for time because it’s in decline. In our case, we have a lot less pressure. We were the last to release PS3, and we will probably be the last to announce something.”
Rumours of a new home console from Sony – as well as Microsoft – being announced within the next six months or so have run riot in recent weeks, but have been hacked down by a number of following comments from the platform giant.
