Yamauchi Hits Out At Gran Turismo Competitors

Sunday, 14 Feb 2010 - 16:03PM

Gran Turismo creator Kazunori Yamauchi has hit out at driving games released since Gran Turismo 4 in 2004, saying that the 'low level of quality really shines through'.

In an interview with Eurogamer.dk, Yamauchi was asked whether he may implement features from different games in future Gran Turismo games, he replied;

"Actually I find it difficult to play the other games in more than five minutes at a time. The game's low level of quality really shines through in the other games and I can not hold them out!"

You'll have to wait and find out whether Gran Turismo 5 lives up to the standard of the incredible series when it releases later this year in Europe and America.

I enjoy the Colin Mcrae and Racedriver: GRID games but apart from that Yamauchi's right, all the other "Racing sims" on the market are complete trash when compared to Gran Turismo. There's no game on the market that can match GT's level of quality or detail. Especially not the Forza series - LOL, what a joke. Forza 3's graphics don't even look as good as Gran Turismo 2 let alone what Gran Turismo 5 will look like.
