Rumor: Uncharted 3 in early stages of development

After the release of the outstanding Uncharted 2, rumors of Uncharted 3 already being in development have been spreading over the web. Now however, rumors that the game is already in the early stages of development seem to be true.
In the latest Official PlayStation Magazine (December 2009, UK version), in the latest 'The Big 10' section, the guys over at OPM have asked Uncharted 2 Multiplayer designer Justin Richmond 'How do you top Uncharted 2?'. The answer, well it seems to all-but confirm that early work has begun on the sequel;
"Haha! More of it." he said "The guys back at the office are already starting to look at optimising the engine, getting more stuff on screen - all the stuff that we've done in this project that we could do better with"
Personally I think it's going to tale a lot of time and effort to even top Among Thieves slightly, but, we'll have to wait and see on it.

To be honest I think naughty dog made a mistake selling the right from crash badicoot but I doubt they're going to leave jack and dexter. Something is telling me that a new jack game is in development it's just to early to be working on a new uncharted. They are going to start milking the franchise!!!! I expect the new one in 2012

So this means Naughty Dog have decided to abandon fans of the Jak & Daxter franchise, much like they did with Crash Bandicoot after the PS2 launched? Boo!

As long as Uncharted 2 delivers in terms of sales, another sequel is inevitable. The game was praised by critics far and wide, but it pains me to see some rather moderate 360 games out-selling the game. I mainly speak of the average PS3 game's "opening day" sales. I'm an employee here at the local Gamestop in my hometown of Salt Lake City, and we have sold quite a few copies of Uncharted 2. However, our managers rarely throw midnight release parties for PS3 titles. We have alot of them for 360 titles. We did have a midnight release for Borderlands. Multi-platform of course too. I was happy to see at least 1/3 of the transactions were for PS3 versions. I believe the PS3 has some great games, but Sony should be doing more to work with retailers such as Gamestop, EB Games, and other large media outlets in order to give games like Uncharted 2 a chance in the big leagues. Again, I am only referring to sales, so please do not misinterpret my words. Thank you for your time. Sanzee
