Metro 2033 Dev Wasn't Ready To Bring Game To PS3 - THQ

Saturday, 27 Feb 2010 - 20:54PM

We were quite surprised when we found out that Metro 2033 wasn't coming to PS3, basically because its a new IP which would probably work excellently on the system.

Earlier this week THQ stated the reasoning behind the decision of the novel adaptation not coming to the Sony platform was due to business. However, the publishing giant has now come out to say the real reason, was because developer 4A Games wasn't ready.

"4A Games is a new studio, and while they are working on multiplatform technology, it just wasn't quite ready at the time." said David Langeliers, creative manager at THQ in an interview with WorthPlaying. "We didn't want to do a port that was going to feel lackluster compared to the other versions. That was really the reasoning behind the PS3."

Langeliers concluded with a comment confirming that 4A are working very hard on PS3 technology: "We are still working toward that end; they're working very hard toward PS3 technology, and we're hoping that in the future, we'll be able to provide a complete, solid product that feels the same on every platform, no matter what you play it on."

Metro 2033 releases for Xbox 360 and PC on March 16 in North America, and March 19 here in Europe.
