ESRB describe Heavy Rain's sexual content

The Entertainment Software Rating's Board have summarized their reasoning for giving the upcoming PlayStation 3 Exclusive Heavy Rain a Mature rating. The biggest factor towards this rating, is most likely the nudity and sexual content in the game, in which the ESRB have described;

The game contains sexual content and nudity. Shower cutscenes may depict a male character's bare butt; if players control the female character, her breasts and buttocks are also briefly visible. A more prolonged instance of nudity occurs during a female character's investigation of a seedy club owner: After getting him alone in a room, the player-character is asked to strip; at gunpoint, she dances topless in front of the man. The game also contains a prompt-based love scene (kissing and rubbing) in which players match on-screen cues to angle characters' mouths, remove shirts and blouses, unhook bras, and lower to the floor; a woman briefly appears topless amidst the dark shadows and heavy breathing—actual sex is never depicted as the camera fades to black.

So breasts and buttocks flying around your screen. Not surprising, as creator David Cage want's to create as genuine experience as possible in this title. We saw the game in October last year, and it was something we had never experienced whilst seeing a game.

Heavy Rain is due out for PlayStation 3 at the end of February.

I think that's the whole point of these summaries, maybe. Gamer-parents laying out the facts, so that soap box demonizers stop in their tracks. Hard for those "retarded " newsgroups to sensationlize and over-exagerrate when the sex, violence, drugs are laid out so clinically, here.

I just hope that as soon as this game comes out we don't get some of the more retarded news groups out there (Like FOX) saying "Oh no, this is interactive porn for 7 year - olds, won't somebody please think of the children?!?" despite the fact that the game is clearly rated mature for a reason. Then again........they still haven't recovered from the discrediting they took after the Mass Effect debacle, so maybe they'll learn to keep their traps shut this time.

Good to see a reasonable discussion about sex and nudity. I guess the soccer nannies have been replaced by savvy gamers at the ESRB.
