A report in Broadcast magazine has revealed that both Sony and Channel 4 are in talks to bring their 4oD service to the PlayStation 3, which would see shows like Skins, Father Ted and Come Dine With Me amongst others being available to view on demand.

BBC iPlayer has been a massive success on the PlayStation 3 since the BBC created a site tailored for the console, and the addition of 40D will futhermore boost Sony's claims of the PS3 only doing everything.

An anonymous Channel 4 source told Broadcast "We're looking to launch on the PS3. 4oD is becoming a platform agnostic product and will be successful because of the quality of the content."

At present both the iPlayer and Demand Five are available to UK PlayStation 3 users through the browser, and it has also been rumoured that ITV have been in talks to bring ITV Player to the platform. Both the Wii and the Xbox 360 have television services available to them too, with the Wii also having BBC iPlayer and the 360 having Sky Player but not iPlayer, due to a conflict of interests between themselves and the BBC over wishing to make the service only available to XBL Gold members.
