Netflix CEO Reed Hastings has confirmed plans for the firm to rent out video games have been axed.

Speaking in the company’s latest earnings call on Wednesday, Hastings said the provider no longer aims to enter the video game market.

Suggestions to do so first emerged when Netflix DVD rental spin-off Qwikster was announced, and despite it being short-lived due to customer objection, Hastings said the possibility of video games rental was still there.

Not so much, now. Not so much.
