Crytek boss Cevat Yerli has confirmed the studio is still looking into the possibility of a fourth Timesplitters game.

"Yeah, we have been discussing it, but nothing has been confirmed yet, so let's see after Crysis 2," he told CVG.

A fourth game in the shooter franchise was in development sometime around 2007, but was put on hold after then developer Free Radical was put into administration, before being purchased by Crytek.

Back in November 2010, studio managing director Karl Hilton revealed that discussions were taking place with publishers to see whether Timesplitters 4 should be released or not, so we can definitely say that they’re taking their time in order to make the right decision.

In April last year, Crytek UK filed a new trademark for Timesplitters: Future Perfect – the last title from the franchise to be released.
