Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 has, according to French website Gameblog.fr, been revealed by Amazon France with a premature retail listing.
The listing was taken down shortly after being spotted, but the French arm of publisher Activision reportedly went a little further and requested the news post on Gameblog.fr be taken down. After refusing to kill its story, the site was apparently blacklisted by the publisher and uninvited to an upcoming Transformers: Fall of Cybertron press event.
Another French site, Xboxygen, seems to have been hit with the same circumstance – also releasing a statement on the matter – whilst Jeuxvideo seemingly accepted Acti’s request and pulled its post yesterday.
This isn’t the first time we’ve seen Black Ops 2 mentioned. Back in November an OPM rumour claimed the next Call of Duty from developer Treyarch would be a direct sequel to the 2010 Cold War shooter, whilst January saw Activision register the domain name BlackOps2.com. Furthermore, the industry giant noted the forthcoming instalment within its powerhouse franchise – expected this November – to offer "meaningful innovation" during its latest investors call earlier this week.
